Where the first piece in the series captured raw, formless genesis, Consciousness No. 2 — A Measure of Silence explores the sublime moment when the infinite void begins to organize itself. It visualizes the calibration of cosmic silence into frequencies, orbits, and paths. This monumental narrative unfolds on a massive 48x48-inch structural chassis, hand-built from raw lumber by the artist in California.

On the hidden verso (back) of the panel, a vibrant crimson layer of Hanji paper is buried beneath white gesso, anchoring the absolute stillness of the front to the beating heart of hidden human vitality. Conversely, the recto (front) surface is completely submerged in a multi-layered absolute black gesso void—a deep, meditative space where silence is no longer passive, but actively measured.

• The Tri-Planetary High-Reliefs: Moving away from amorphous landforms, this topography features three distinct, high-relief planetary orbs hand-sculpted from raw Hanji. Born from a 24-hour immersion and a patient 5 to 7-day slow-drying ritual, these heavy orbs warp naturally into deeply wrinkled, cratered structures, representing localized gravity wells within the silent void.

• The Vortex of "Hanji-Cell Personas": Connecting these cosmic bodies are the artist’s exclusive signature—the Hanji-Cells. Arranged in sweeping, concentric vortexes and gravitational trails, millions of raw mulberry fibers defy gravity, stretching proudly 3 to 4 cm into the open air. Because the natural tension of each fiber creates an unrepeatable gesture, these trails become a dynamic map of individual Personas caught in a celestial dance.

• Selective Textural Contrast: To preserve the pure, velvet-like matte black and unfiltered texture of the Hanji-Cells, the professional black gesso is meticulously applied only to the background panel. The soaring 3–4 cm fibers remain entirely raw. This intentional contrast creates a subtle, hypnotic friction between the structured gesso ground and the light-absorbing softness of the free-standing fibers, which shift beautifully under ambient light.
