PAVILION II: THE CHEON-JI-IN TRILOGY

Chapter III: IN (The Human Ethos)

Stage II: JEONG
(The Boundless Attachment)

"Affection knows no artificial borders; it is an irrepressible warmth that breaches the highest structural crests to blanket the pristine earth."

Stage II introduces JEONG—the deep, untranslatable Korean ethos of collective attachment, relational gravity, and the fluid, boundary-breaking empathy that permanently tethers human souls to one another. It represents the psychological womb of early human communities, where individual egos dissolve into a warm, shared landscape of mutual survival and emotional interconnectedness.

Upon the immaculate 1,000°C pre-baked white vermiculite mineral matrix, the composition orchestrates an undulating, sacred topography. The hand-sculpted traditional Korean Hanji masses—steeped in water for twenty-four hours, bound with archival Lineco adhesive, and blended with titanium white gesso—form softly rolling mountain ridges. To soften harsh transitions, the artist has meticulously grafted fine white vermiculite mineral fragments across the mountain flanks, allowing the pristine paper edges to diffuse seamlessly into the surrounding plain like warmth spreading through frost.

Deep from the central sanctuary of this white range rises a luminous, multi-mineral current composed of Raw Sky-Blue Apatite stones, Raw Green Fluorite minerals, and shimmering Aqua Quartz points, intertwined with delicate silver wire. In a powerful conceptual masterstroke of emotional release, this vibrant mineral river breaches the mountain crests, deliberately clinging to even the steepest mid-slopes and cascading gracefully over the ridges to spill out onto the open white vermiculite plain below—capturing the literal, uncontainable "overflowing of Jeong."

Concealed within this fluid matrix lies a single, pristine Swarovski crystal—the Quantum Observer—whose silent, eternal gaze collapses the chaotic, overflowing waves of human emotion into a unified, permanent reality of absolute, unyielding love

Dimensional Detail

Dimensional Detail: A deeply poetic and textural three-dimensional topography defined by soft organic mountain curves and a fluid, multi-hued mineral cascade. The composition is anchored by an amphitheater of hand-sculpted traditional Korean Hanji masses mixed with white gesso and archival Lineco adhesive, whose surfaces are softly cloaked with grafted white vermiculite fragments to eliminate aggressive edges and diffuse light seamlessly. Emerging from the central valley, a rich multi-toned mineral vein—combining rough sky-blue apatite, raw green fluorite, and aqua quartz intertwined with silver wire—climbs up the range. Strikingly, individual crystals cling to the steep, rugged mid-slopes and overshoot the crests, elegantly spilling down the outer flanks and embedding directly into the vast, empty white vermiculite bedrock below. Combined with the pristine shimmer of clear Swarovski crystals and the artisanal framing of the 6 cm deep grasscloth shadowbox, this structural overflow captures an elegant, tactile dialogue of boundless attachment, anchored by a single hidden Swarovski crystal.
