Dual-Toned Hanji Stratification
To capture the violent, internal alchemy of the early Earth, the artwork freezes a dramatic tectonic rupture within the canvas. Rather than destroying earlier foundations, new acrylic-infused Hanji is layered directly over the prior base, exposing two distinct colored epochs of terrestrial history. The upper Hanji layers are hand-sculpted into massive, protective ridges framing the central wound, with raw vermiculite mineral fragments over-grafted along the flanks to blend into the surrounding terrain.
Scorched Rift & Blackened Minerals
Defining the outer perimeter of this volcanic canyon is a dramatic outline of Midnight Black Gesso—a scorched halo representing intense geothermal heat. Inside this rift, a massive Raw Green Fluorite stone emerges alongside peach moonstones and black aqua quartz points. Purposefully veiled in midnight black gesso, these crystals are shrouded in a dark, matte mantle of volcanic soot while projecting heavy, obsidian-like physical forms atop a bed of shattered cobalt blue sea glass shards glowing like a subterranean river.
Copper Veins & The Quantum Observer
Highlighting the crests of the massive paper ridges are weathered veins of Oxidized Copper Leaf, capturing the conductive warmth of a cooling planet. Concealed precisely within this rich matrix lies a single Swarovski crystal—the Quantum Observer—whose silent gaze collapses the cosmic wave of probability into heavy terrestrial reality.
